How to start the process

There is more then one ways how to start process of getting a green card. If you are still in Czech Republic you can ask for fiance visa. It takes 4-6 months and here is more info (http://prague.usembassy.gov/fiancees_visas.html)
If you don't have so much time, you can enter US as a visitor (http://prague.usembassy.gov/esta.html). Its very easy and with no problems.
So when you are in US you have to get married as soon as possible, because you only have 3 months to do so. (90 days as a visitor). We got married in the court house ($50) and we are planning a ceremony in Czech in 2011.  After wedding you can get your Marriage certificate and with this you can start your process of getting green card.

The beginning

Our journey started in Kansas where I studied for a year in 2007/2008. I met my future husband January 15th 2008 and since then we are together and happy. We lived in the Czech Republic for a year and now we are back in the states where we are trying to get me a green card! And here comes the reason why I'm writing this blog.

When I decided that I will be living in the US with my husband (at least for a while) I needed to figure out how to get a green card to stay here with possibility to work, study or just go back to Czech to visit my family(it wouldn't be a problem to leave US but to come back). The problem was that no one was able to give me any  information how to start or what to do first. So I decided to write this blog and if I help one person I will be happy.
